Obituary

William Picard II, age 60 of Dickinson formerly of Bottineau, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at his home in Dickinson. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

William Russell Picard II, a son of William Russell and Janice (Johnson) Picard, was born on June 24, 1965, in Bottineau. He was raised in Bottineau. He joined the North Dakota National Guard in 1982. He graduated from Bottineau High school in 1983 and then attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND where he earned a degree in drafting. Bill worked for Page’s in Bottineau for several years. He moved to Grand Forks before moving to Dickinson. There, he worked as an installer for Midwest Doors. Bill retired from the National Guard on July 23, 2002, after 20 years of service.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and spending time in the outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Janice; brother, Brad (Nikki) Picard; sisters, Deb (Darren) Hellman and Dawn (Johnny) Picard; nieces and nephews, Kirstie Meidinger, Kaitlyn Kudrna, Peter-Michael Dixon, Benett Dixon, John Picard and Abigail Picard; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his companion, Chloe Opheim; father, William Russel Picard and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
