William "Willie" T. Davis was born on February 23, 1962 to Norma "Jeanie" Davis-Grant in Belcourt, ND. He was raised by his mom and dad Clarence "Pepin" Grant in Belcourt. Willie Attended school in the Belcourt area. Sports were always part of his life, Willie played Babe Ruth and Legion ball in the state, and he loved the Raider Nation (NFL). After graduating from Turtle Mountain Community High School, he earned a Social Work degree from the University of North Dakota. Willie was one of the first UND Upward Bound alumni during high school. In 1984 Willie married his high school sweetheart Jackie Belgarde, they later divorced.

In 1980 Willie was involved in an automobile accident that left him a paraplegic and he made a new life in a wheelchair. After his accident he played wheelchair basketball with the Wall Bangers (a ND Wheelchair team), participated in 25 marathons (one being 26.5 miles), and played for the National Wheelchair PoolPlayers Association along with his friend Randy Morin, together they traveled and played pool all over the country. Later, they together created the Turtle Mountain Disability Association (TMDA).

Willie's years of employment were spent in the Turtle Mountain schools—counselor, Turtle Mountain Community College—financial aid counselor, Vocal Rehabilitation counselor, Turtle Mountain Housing Authority Director. Additionally, he ran a consulting business helping others be compliant with accommodating peoples with disabilities—his logo was "Don't DISmyABILITY". Right up to the end of Willie did work for people with disabilities in the state, tribal programs, and educational programs all with great passion.

In the last few years, Willie battled medical problems, cancer being one of them. In the end he was at peace. He is survived by God Mother Beverly Gourneau, his brother Darry (Wanita) Davis, sisters Annette (Joe) Mennem, Joette (Scott) Crissler, Uncles Kenny (Rose) Davis, Lynn (Carol) Davis, cousins, nephews TJ Allick, Tanner Crissler, Easton Crissler, Peyton Davis, nieces Miranda Grant, Kyleigh Mennem, Mallorie Crissler, great nephews Talon and Braiden and great nieces Rainy and Marleigh.

Willie was proceeded in death by his mom and dad and grandparents Bill and Louise (Patnaude) Davis and Mike and Louise (Lavallie) Grant and Uncle Alan (Kumish) Davis.

A service will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers memorial is preferred to Annette Mennem, PO Box 1634, Minot, ND 58702 for the Willie T. Davis Memorial Scholarship fund.
