Wayne C Light age 71 of Souris, ND passed away on Sunday, August 9th, 2026, at a Bottineau Hospital after battling cancer.

He was born on June 30th, 1955 in Montana to Wilbert (Bill) and Carol Light. They later moved to Minot, ND where he grew up with 3 sisters. They then moved to Lake Metigoshe where they built the Turtle Mountain Lodge and had Light Construction.

He married Barb Canada and they shared 2 children, Chris and Jody. They later divorced. Wayne was an awesome snowmobile racer with many trophies. He raced in Canada with his good friend Bob Barwick; Dave Olson and Cliff Issendorf in the Turtle Mountains. He worked on road construction and for Jim Page for many years.

In 2014 he married Lind Marzolf and resided at Lake Metigoshe, later moving to Souris, ND. Wayne retired in 2017 to enjoy doing odd jobs. He loved helping out his friends.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Linda of 12 years, Son Chris (Carol) Light, Daughter Jody (Ashley) VanDaele and Stepchildren Jeffrey Foss, Kristin Dokken, Joshua Foss and Colin Walker; Sisters Sandy (Henry) Hagen and Karen Knudson; Grandchildren Dawson Light, Walker Light, Sage Light and Seth VanDaele, along with numerous Step Grandchildren. Great Granddaughter Odeliah Dawn VanDaele.

He was proceeded in death by his Grand Parents, Parents, Sister Debbie Light and Nephew Steven Knudson.

A Celebration of Life will be on September 12th, 2026 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at Cowboys Bar
