Wallace "Wally" Pladson, age 74 of Bottineau, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at a Bottineau hospital. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Visitation will be the day of the funeral starting at noon and going until service time at the funeral home.
Wallace Duane Pladson, a son of Arthur and Evelyn (Nelson) Pladson, was born on December 18, 1950 in Bottineau. He was raised on a farm near Dunseith and attended country school. On May 7, 1970, Wally entered the US Army. He served in Vietnam and received his Honorable Discharge on November 14, 1971. On November 24, 1973, he married Susan Lee in Rolette. They lived in Rugby briefly before moving to Bottineau. In, 1974, they moved to Glasgow, MT and Wally attended electrical school. After completing school, they moved to Rolette where he worked for R&O Contractors as an electrician. A year later, they moved to Bottineau and he went to work on the oil rigs. A few years later, he went to work at San Haven in direct patient care and then as a supervisor until the facility closed in 1987. At this time, they moved to Grafton where Wally worked as a welder for Kerian Machines. In 1988, he and Susan decided to go their separate ways. Wally moved to Walhalla in 1994 where he worked at the ADM ethanol plant and for Wanzek Construction. In 2024, he moved to Bottineau to be closer to Family.
Wally enjoyed working on small engines, hunting, fishing, going for drives in his side by side and playing guitar. He enjoyed spending time with friends and always had good stories to share and loved to laugh and make people laugh. Wally had a big love for music, especially Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Horton and George Jones.
He is survived by his son, Shane Pladson of Bottineau; daughter, Myranda Pladson of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Alex Veer, Blake Pladson, Zachary (Mariah) Young, Shelbi Young, Damon Young and Riggin Pladson; brothers, Allen Pladson of Dunseith and Almo (Christie) Pladson of Williston; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
