Wallace Glenn
Brandjord
Jan 4, 1968 — Dec 14, 2024
Wallace Glenn Brandjord, age 56 of Bottineau, passed away on December 14, 2024 in Scottsdale, AZ. His funeral was held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Lake Metigoshe Christian Center. Burial was at the Lesje Lutheran Cemetery near Souris.
Wallace Glenn Brandjord, a son of Glenn and Vickie (Brenden) Brandjord, was born on January 4, 1968. Wally was raised on his family farm west of Souris. He graduated from Souris High School in 1986. He then went to NDSU to obtain his degree in business, which he continued on to get his MBA at the University of Minnesota. He then moved to Minot and purchased Dakota Fire Extinguishers in 1990, while still farming part-time. In 1998, he opened Sawmill Corner at Lake Metigoshe. Wally then met Tracy while she was working at Farm Credit Services in 1999. In the spring of 2000, he moved home to farm on the family farm. Tracy and Wally married November 25, 2000. Wally gained two sons, Paxton & Parker, that day as well. He liked to share the story about how Parker said, "we knew you would be a good one when we bought you." In 2001, his first daughter Abi was born. In 2003, Wally sold Dakota Fire Extinguishers and became a partner in Gooseneck Implement in 2004. An even bigger event in 2004, his youngest daughter, Averi, was born.
If you knew Wally, you knew that he was a farmer at heart. His time spent at the farm with his family was his favorite time. Wally lived life to the fullest. He was admired for his kindness and generosity. He was proud of the time he spent on the board at Bottineau Winter Park and worked closely with the New York Says Thank You Foundation to build Annie's House. As everyone knows, he had a thing for cars. He enjoyed the friendships and stories that came with the cars more than the cars themselves. Under the age of 10 he made a bucket list, and the last two things on there that he hadn't accomplished yet was farming all of Bottineau County and Governor of North Dakota.
Although his professional accomplishments were plenty, his pride and joy was being a husband and a dad. He cherished his time with his family. You could often find him having dance parties in the kitchen with Abi & Averi or surfing behind the boat with the family. His passion was farming with his family. To his family, Wally was the man that made the world go around. As successful as he was in his professional life, he was an even better family man. His love and caretaking is irreplaceable and he will be very missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial be given to the Bottineau Winter Park or to Farm Rescue.
