Vivian Abrahamson, age 93 of St. John, ND died Sunday, February 21, 2021 at a Rolla hospital. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Grace Lutheran Brethren Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at the Little Prairie Cemetery north of Dunseith.
Vivian Abrahamson, a daughter of Bjarne and Aasta (Ryan) Hofstad, was born on August 11, 1927 on the family farm near Ambrose, ND. She was raised there and graduated from Crosby High School. On June 17, 1951, she married Glen Abrahamson at Ambrose, ND. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in the Turtle Mountains near St. John, ND. She worked side by side on the farm with her loving husband, milking cows, doing the books and everything in between. Glen passed away on September 30, 1985. Vivian remained on the farm.
Vivian's kitchen was always opened for any friends or stranger that Glen brought into their home and they left with a full belly and a smile. Vivian sewed and patched for 2 generations. She always loved time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, canning and fishing. In her golden years, she started creating homemade cards for all her children, grandchildren and other loved ones. Vivian will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Keith (Valerie) of Bismarck, David (Marsha) of St. John and Randy (Lori) of St. John; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Alice Abrahamson of St. John; sister, Bernice Knutson of Bismarck and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Gary and Larry and sisters, Alice Engkvist and Mildred Ingebo.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net .
