Virgil Beston, age 56 of Dunseith, died Wednesday. October 14, 2020 at a Belcourt hospital. His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in the EagleHeart Cultural Center in Dunseith. The wake will begin on Wednesday at 4:00 P.M. also at the Log Cabin. Burial will be in the St. Sylvan's Cemetery north of Dunseith.

Virgil was born on January 14, 1964 to Louis and Ilene (Norquay) Beston in Belcourt, ND.  He attended school at the Dunseith Day School, the Wahpeton Boarding School and later Dunseith Public School. He lived in the Dunseith area most of his life, except for 5 years when he lived in Bismarck, ND.

Virgil enjoyed doing crosswords, playing yahtzee, cards and going to the casino. He also loved in Joose.

He is survived by his sisters, Flora Marie Picotte, Sherry Beston, Bonnie (Albert) Norquay; brothers, Lyle Beston and Jason Norquay all of Dunseith, and Duane (Joan) Beston of White Rocks, Utah; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; his godchildren, Marvin Cree and Hilary Poitra; his special niece, Anna Phelps who he called his little nurse, and other special friends.

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ilene Beston; siblings, Arnold Beston and Gail Smoke; nephews, Perry Picotte and Frank Belgarde; a niece, Alicia Beston and his grandparents.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
