Obituary

Violet Brenden, age 88 of Bottineau, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at a Bottineau nursing home.  Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Our Savior's Lutheran church in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Burial will be at the Lesje Lutheran Cemetery near Souris.

Violet P. Brenden a daughter of Ervin and Alma (Boettcher) Reamer, was born on April 24, 1933 at St. Andrew's Hospital in Bottineau.  She grew up in Bottineau and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1952.  On December 30, 1954, she married Kenneth M. Brenden at the Methodist Church in Bottineau.  They made their home in Bottineau.  Violet worked Saunder's Café and William's Drug Store.  They moved to the family farm near Landa in 1965.  In 1990, she began working at the Westhope Home as a CNA where she volunteered for 10 years prior.  All of this in addition to helping Keny with farming and raising her family.  Keny passed away on October 7, 2019.

Violet was a member of the Lesje Lutheran Church where she was active in the WELCA and taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed sewing, baking, hunting, camping and fishing with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, daughters, Prudence (Jack) Kersten of Bottineau, Peggy (Tom) Forsberg of Minot; son, Patrick (Holly) Brenden of Bottineau. Grandchildren; Carter Forsberg, Jonathan Brenden and Stephanie Brenden; brother-in-law, Owen Brenden of Minot; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Reamer of Bottineau; and nieces and nephews, Pam Kelly, Paul Brenden, Heather Snowden, Heidi Selch and Jerome Reamer.

In addition to her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by her sister, Marian and her husband, Daniel Novodvorsky; brother, Delbert Reamer and sister-in-law, Norma Brenden.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Lesje Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund or the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center.
