tyra reece st. claire was born on june 21, 2004, in grand forks, nd. she was raised with endless love by her parents kevin and christina st. claire. she passed away on may 21, 2026 in her hometown of bottineau, nd at the young age of 21.

tyra brought a unique spark to this world. from the very beginning she had an incredibly sensitive heart. her mom loved her so fiercely and worked tirelessly to prepare her for a difficult world that her tender soul often struggled to navigate. while her mom tried to teach her tough lessons, even when she wanted an easy path-it was a gift that tyra fully appreciated and realized later in life. she came to recognize that the resilience she carried was a deep reflection of her mother’s deep dedication of her love. tyra was incredibly lucky to be raised by a father who stepped up and chose to do what he didn’t have to do, giving her the gift of unconditional love. they shared an undeniable bond on the golf course. he spent years coaching her, sparking a passion for what became her favorite game, and teaching her lessons about life, patience and perseverance every step of the way.

she held a special place in her family as the middle sister, a bridge between worlds. she spent her life looking up to her older sister taisyn while at the same time serving as a protective big sister to piper. together, the three sisters shared a bond that was entirely their own. two years ago, taisyn and her husband alex welcomed a little girl, aliana mae, giving tyra great pride in being an aunt, always making time for fun adventures and creating memories that aliana will carry forever. this winter taisyn and alex gave exciting news that they were expecting twins, and tyra was so excited about this, she will forever be their angel.

her vibrant personality was heavily shaped by family that loved her so much. her gentle spirit was cultivated by gramma mae, who taught her to appreciate the brilliant colors from the sunset far in the sky to the beautiful flowers of the earth, which later formed the start of her very own green thumb. she planted her first vegetable garden earlier this spring and was eager to see how that adventure would go. auntie val sparked her lifelong love for all things glitter, pink and pretty. auntie jacki ignited her amazing cooking abilities, from simple dishes to the complex love for her newfound obsession with sour dough. tyra loved pictures, either capturing them or being in them, and we are all so lucky to have the moments that were captured by her. she also loved clay art, drawing, and all things artistic in which we can thank her cousin jessica for that passion.

over the past year and a half, her life opened in ways no one saw coming. through her relationship with her boyfriend ty, she discovered a deep passion for ranching and everything that goes with it. to the surprise of everyone who knew her, she took up hunting and fishing (rubbing in the fact that she always out fished him)! ty’s black lab, calbert, quickly worked his way into her heart, a bond she did not see coming but absolutely cherished. along with ty, his family welcomed her with open arms, treating her so well and making her feel like she completely belonged.

tyra was blessed with many friends, those closest to her know who they are, and she loved them deeply, a bond that cannot be broken.

her professional journey began in 2021 at bottineau building blocks learning center (bblc). no matter where new paths took her over the years, she always found her way back to bblc. she will forever be loved and deeply missed by her bblc family. the genuine love she showed to everyone there will leave an empty space behind that can never be filled.

she was building a bright academic future at the university of north dakota (und) where she had just completed her junior year. while her official focus was finance, she was actively planning to take her education further by branching out into marketing, discovering a natural talent for social media advertising. ready to step out of her comfort zone she accepted a position as the marketing coordinator for signal realty in minot nd. though her time there was brief, she felt it was the perfect job for her. the team at signal was incredibly good to her and she valued the wonderful people she met during her time with them.

alongside her studies at und she spent time working as a barista at sweetwater’s coffee shop and happy camper. she found she had time to add a third job to her schedule by caring for a special little girl named rilynn, who she absolutely adored. when she moved back to bottineau, she really struggled knowing her time with her special friend was coming to an end. she absolutely loved her time at each of these places, and her bubbly personality allowed her to build so many new friendships. tyra leaves behind a legacy of ambition, surprise, and kindness that will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, coworkers and everyone who knew her. as we move forward, let us honor her memory by sharing the joy she gave so freely, when anyone thinks of tyra, her beautiful smile is what they see—a reminder of a life well lived that will never fade. fly high cutie girl, until we meet again……forever 21

she leaves behind many family and friends who will forever cherish her memory and preceded in death by loved ones.
