Terry Herbert, age 76, Bottineau, ND, passed away on February 28, 2025, in Garrison, ND surrounded by loved ones. The family service will be Thursday, March 6th, at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be on March 7th, at 10:00 am. Both services will at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau, ND. Terry was born on February 12th, 1949 in Bedford, Ohio. After completing high school, Terry enlisted into the US Army until 1971. For his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Commendation, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Gallantry Cross with Silver Star and a Purple Heart.
After an honorable discharge, Terry moved to Florida for a short time. He then moved to Colorado and started Good Time Tours. He loved his sled dogs and giving hay rides. Colorado was also where he met the love of his life Carole. After a short time together there, they moved to North Dakota.
On July 29, 2000 Terry and Carole married. They lived at Lake Metigoshe for a time, where Terry found great joy working at the State Park. Later, they moved to a farm east of Bottineau, where they had a hobby farm and together bought the Midway Bar. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends throughout the years.
Terry is survived by his wife Carole, children Dallas, Brenda (Anthony), and Kimberly (Taylor). Grandchildren Kasandra (Dylan), Kaitlyn, Bryston, Stellina, Bree (Brock), Joree, Jerrad Tyler, Odinn, Coy and Thatcher. Great grandchild Gwendolyn and Elaine. Sisters Laura and Barbra. Brothers and sisters in-law Corvin (Darlene), Colleen (Larry), Darryl, Brian (Meg) and Jodean. Special family friends Jeremy, Leroy, Kimmy, Tucker, and Bobbie.
He is preceded in death by his son David, step-sons Jerrad and Tyler, and sister in-law Trudy.
