Obituary

Steve Keller, age 71 of Bottineau, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at a Minot hospital.  A private family service was held.

Steve Keller, a son of Clifford and Wilma (Heupel) Keller, was born on September 23, 1950 in Grand Forks.  He moved to Bottineau and graduated from Bottineau High school in 1968.  He then attended Minot State University and earned his bachelor's degree.  He then worked as a personnel officer for the US government in numerous states in the Western United States.  On May 22, 1982, he married Karen Shultz in Bottineau.  This marriage later ended.  He operated the Four Season's Store at Lake Metigoshe from 1985 until 1998.  He then did carpentry work, worked for area farmers along with dealing blackjack in the evenings.  He then began working for the Bottineau Sheriff's Office as a dispatcher and correctional officer until his retirement in 2018.

Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, playing cribbage and whist and watching sports.

He is survived by his 3 sons, Josh, Zach and Sam (Clare) all of Bottineau; siblings, Bruce (Kathy) of Thief River Falls, MN Jayne Morrison of Grand Forks, ND, Matthew (Deneen) of Newberg, OR/Thorne Bay, AK and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Wilma Keller.
