Obituary

Steven Lee Lauckner, 68, Kramer, ND passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, in Minot, ND.

Steven Lauckner was born November 28th, 1953, to Max and Ellen (Erickson) Lauckner in Bottineau, ND. He grew up on the family farm, the youngest of 4 children, and attended school in Kramer, ND. Steve married his sweetheart, Cynthia Soland, on November 30th, 1973. They settled on the family farm, working together until retirement in 2014. He loved the land and was awarded Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year in 2005 by the Bottineau Jaycees. He also loved sharing the farm experiences with his grandkids.

When Steve was not farming, he liked to keep busy.  He served on the Souris River Grain board, Bottineau-Souris-Westhope Cenex board, and township board. He was a volunteer fireman and could often be found catching up on local news at the Kramer elevator. Steve enjoyed gardening and spending time at the lake. He enjoyed working in his shop and could fix anything. He could make delicious scalloped potatoes but was especially known for the many pranks he played on others. When sitting with Steve, one could have a good conversation and many laughs. His family will always be grateful for the love and valuable wisdom he shared freely with them. His laughter and the sparkle in his eye will be missed.

He is survived by his wife Cindy; daughters Jacquelyn Luce of Wilmington, OH, Joan (Jay Clark) Lauckner of Los Angeles, CA, Erin (Cory Blue) Lauckner of Grand Forks, ND; and 8 grandchildren; sister-in-law Karen Lauckner of Bottineau, ND; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don and Jack, and sister Marjorie.

Friends may leave condolences in-person until 10/28 by 4:00 p.m. at Nero Funeral Home. Burial will be held in the Kramer Cemetery Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. for relatives only. A celebration of life will follow at the Kramer Senior Citizens at 2:00 p.m. open to family and friends.
