Obituary

Steve Hagen, age 63 of Westhope, died Sunday at a Minot hospice center.  His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Westhope.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Westhope.  Burial will be at the Westhope Cemetery.

Steve Hagen, a son of Obert and Phyllis (Armer) Hagen, was born on June 17, 1955 at Bottineau.  He was raised in Westhope and graduated from Westhope High School.  Following graduation, he moved to Colorado for a time and worked at the Coors Brewery.  He returned to Westhope in 1977, he married Barb Aalund.  This marriage later ended.  He drove truck for Matador for a time before working at the Amoco.  He took over the Amoco in 1984 and he sold it to his brother, Ole in 1988.  Steve went back to driving truck for Koch and became their district manager.  Koch later sold out to Diamond B Trucking and Steve remained as the district manager. He later was the truck dispatcher.  Steve retired in the spring of 2018.

Steve enjoyed stamp collecting, doing small engine repair, watching baseball especially the Twins and spending time at the lake.

Steve passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at a Minot hospice center.

He is survived by his sons, Adam (Melanie) Hagen of Mohall and Andy Hagen of Lansford;  granddaughters, Evie and Hannah Hagen of Mohall; sister, Barb (Gary) Lee of Rugby; brother, Ole (Becky) Hagen of Landa and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Gerald Hagen and nephew, Tyler Hagen.
