Obituary

Seth Nathaniel Wilkie, 29, of Fargo, North Dakota, but also born and raised in Belcourt, North Dakota, chose to fly rather than walk. On October 28, 2025 he decided to try out angel wings.

Seth was firm and steady hands and a stubborn heart. He worked as a pipefitter in the fire suppression trade, a job that suited him—hard work, honest work, no shortcuts. He was fiercely loyal, sometimes to people who didn’t deserve it, but that was who he was. Once he cared about you, that was it. You were his, no matter how hard life got.

He tried to do the right thing, even when the world didn’t return the favor. There was a quiet bravery in that.

Seth wasn’t religious or spiritual, but he was searching, for peace, for belonging, for something that made sense. When his mom, Renee, died on July 31, 2024, the world tilted. She was his anchor, his person. Losing her broke something in him that love alone couldn’t mend.

After holding on as long as he could, Seth chose to rest. He wanted to be with his mom again—the one place he always felt safe.

He leaves behind people who loved him deeply and will carry him always: family, friends, and those who saw past his rough edges to the fierce heart underneath.

A private cremation has taken place, and his ashes have been placed beside his mom, where he always wanted to be—home.
