Ronald
Fawley
Sep 13, 1967 — Jan 17, 2025
Ronald Fawley, 57, tragically passed away on the morning of Friday, January 17, 2025, from an accident at work. At the time of his death, Ron had recently found a new position at Border Ag in Bottineau after being laid off from the oil field in November 2024. He was thrilled to have secured a job that allowed him to stay home with his family rather than be on the road.
Born on September 13, 1967, in Fayette County, Ohio, Ron was the son of Robert and Beverly Fawley. He spent his early childhood years there before his family moved to Montana, where he attended Shepherd School. It was there that he met his lifelong best friend and high school sweetheart, Val.
After moving to Lander, Wyoming, to complete his senior year, Ron married Christine, with whom he had three children: Lacie, Johnathan, and Julie.
Though Ron and Val eventually went their separate ways, they kept in touch throughout the years. In 2016, they reconnected, and by 2017, they became inseparable. They blended their families together, and in 2024, they were married.
Ron was a man of many talents. Whether it was building homes, welding, or fixing toys like Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels for his grandkids, he was always there to help. He would give his last dollar without hesitation, expecting nothing in return. His generosity and kindness knew no bounds.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Ron and Val spent much of their free time in their camper, whether camping by the roadside or in remote mountain areas with no cell phone reception. As long as he had a fishing rod in hand or was sitting by a campfire with Val, Ron was content. His love for nature and spending time with his wife brought out the best in him.
But more than anything, Ron's heart was full when he heard the words "Papa Ron!" as his grandchildren came running toward him. His joy was evident as he wrestled with his grandsons or cuddled his granddaughters. The love he shared with his grandchildren was visible, and his smile shone as brightly as theirs.
Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was loved by so many, and his absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to call him family and friend.
Ron is survived by his wife, Val; his son Johnathan (Frida Alvarez) Fawley; his daughter Julie Fawley; stepdaughter Cassandra Peterson; stepsons Michael (Christine) Skaggs and Jordan (Nyiel) Peterson; son-in-law Cody Griffin; brother Richard (Sara) Fawley and "brother" Doug (Becky) Shephard; mother-in-law Shirley Stewart; sister-in-law Shawn (Jeff) Roush; brother-in-law Shannon (Abbie Gade) Stewart; and seven grandchildren: MaryAnna, Bentley, Keith, Elizabeth (Little Bits), Graham, Brayleigh, and Hallie.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Lacie Griffin; his mother Beverly Myers; his father Robert Fawley; his sister Judy Myers; and his father-in-law Phil Stewart.
Fly high, my love. You were my life.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
