Rodny Opdahl, age 84 of Landa, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 at a Minot hospital.  His funeral will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Visitation will start at 9:00 am until service time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Mouse River Church.  His service will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/@nerofuneralhome6627/streams .

Rodny Opdahl, a son of Carl and Irene (Carlson) Opdahl, was born on January 8, 1941 in Westhope.  He was raised near Landa and attended country school before attending Westhope Public School.  Following his education, he began working on the family farm and later at the Farmer's Union Oil in Newburg.  He was married to Eileen Helgeson and they had 2 children Darwin and Sharon.  This marriage later ended.  On January 1, 1983, Rodny married Joyce Gross-Blumhagen.  Rodny worked as a pumper in the oil fields for many years.  He also worked for area farmers and doing custom combining.  He retired in 2003 and in 2017, Rodny and Joyce moved into Bottineau.

Rodny was a life member of the Mouse River Lutheran Church near Landa and served on the cemetery board.  In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking.

Rodny is survived by his wife, Joyce of Bottineau; Children, Darwin (Melissa) Opdahl of Helena, MT, Sharon (Mark) Easley of Cottonwood, AZ, Michael Blumhagen of Bozeman, MT, Brenda (John) Schrade of Jamestown, ND, Rick Blumhagen of Fairdale, ND and Rhonda (Dean) Bahls of Frazee,MN; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Carroll (Barb) Opdahl, sister-in-law, Sue Opdahl and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Opdahl.
