Rodney John Poitra age 60 of Belcourt ND passed away on January 27, 2026, at a Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Rodney was the son of Roy and Rose Ann Poitra he was born in Belcourt ND on December 20, 1965. Rodney went to school at the Dunseith Indian day school as well as Belcourt school.

Rodney has 7 children Joseph (Joey) vivier, James (poncho) Dubois, John (cat)Poitra, Joshua Poitra, Dawn Vivier, Mary Kaye Poitra and Rodney John Poitra Jr. Rodney enjoyed spending time with all his Family and Friends he especially loved helping everyone any chance he got. Rodney is survived by his wife of 39 years Brenda Poitra, Children- Joseph (Joey) vivier, James (poncho) Dubois, John (cat)Poitra, Joshua John Poitra, Dawn Vivier, Mary Kaye Poitra, Siblings- Thomas (Tommy) Poitra, William (Liza Jo) Poitra, Darrell Decoteau, Daniel Decoteau, Patrick Decoteau, Leon Norman, Kenny Norman, Merle Norman, Robert Norman, Henry Norman, Darwin Wright, Roberta (snoopy) Nadeau, Ruby (tony) Morin, Susan Decoteau, Mary Lockwood, Darcy Norman, Shannon Wright and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rodney was proceeded in death by his Parents Roy and Roseann Poitra also special friend Mary Norman. Loving baby by Rodney John Poitra Jr. Brothers- William Poitra, Alfred Decoteau, Marvin Decoteau, Ambrose Decoteau Jr. Sisters- Della Poitra, Thelma Davis, Violet McLeod, Wanda Poitra, Joanne Decoteau, Elizabeth Decouteau, Baby girl Decoteau, Marlene St. Claire, Barbara Summers, Diane Lenolr and in laws Robert and Elizabeth Dubois as well as many other loved ones.

Rodney John Poitra will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by all who knew him.
