A memorial service for Rodney Dean Beckedahl, age 70 of Landa, will be held Friday February 23 ^rd , 2018 at 2 pm at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau, ND.

Rodney Dean Beckedahl, son of Glenn and Ethel (Sundby) Beckedahl and step-son to Donald Medler, was born on September 15, 1947 in Kenmare, ND. He grew up in Sherwood, ND, where he attended and graduated from Sherwood High School.

Rodney moved to Moorhead, MN, where he worked as a truck driver. He met his "sweeters", Mary Lou Kluge, wife of 50 years.

He was married and drafted in 1967 with the Army. In his 3 years of service, he served in Germany and Thailand in communications as a Fixed Station Facilities Technical Controller. He was proud to serve his country.

After living in many locations, he made his home in Landa, ND with his wife Mary Lou. They raised 4 wonderful children over the years.

Rodney enjoyed life! He loved pinochle, camping, hunting, fishing, trucking, and watching his son race. Playing with his grandchildren was always a priority to him. He will be remembered by all for his sense of humor and his very unforgettable laugh.

He passed away in Minot, ND at the Cancer Cottage, under the care of hospice, on February 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, of Landa; 4 children Cindy (Steve Dowell) Beckedahl of Wahpeton, ND, Wanda (Josh) Barringer of Mooreton, ND, Christine (Chris) Busche of McLeod, ND, and Steve (Heather) Beckedahl of Landa, ND, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Louise (Lyle) Windfaldet of Ambrose, ND and Lois (Bill) Talent of Lake Tapps, WA and sister-in-law Delores Beckedahl of Mohall, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, sister Gail (Roger) Halverson, and infant son Glenn.
