Robert Lee “Bobby D” DeLong of Belcourt, North Dakota, passed away at home on September 15, 2026.

Robert was born on April 18, 1948 to George and Lucille DeLong.

Bobby proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1972 and received an honorable discharge. In 1972, Bobby married first wife Cora Halsey and had they had a son, Thomas Michael DeLong. This marriage later ended. In 1982, he married Cindy LaVallie. Together, they had two children, Crystal and Robert DeLong. Although they later divorced, they remained friends.

He is survived by his children, Crystal DeLong and Robert DeLong; stepchildren, Tanya LaVallie and Cory LaVallie; grandchildren Kira Wallette, she held a special place in her papa’s life. Athan DeLong, Cade Brien, Akerycin DeLong, Kyercin DeLong, Jordan, Vanessa, Shodiah, Kelly Jr, Corilyn, Leilani & many other great grandchildren; and sisters Carol Demery and Alberta Malaterre, all of Belcourt.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille DeLong; son, Thomas Michael DeLong and siblings Freddy DeLong, Myron DeLong, Bernard DeLong, and Marlys DeLong.
