Robert David Bergman, age 83 of Bottineau, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at his home in Bottineau after a long courageous battle with cancer. His memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time.

Robert David Bergman, a son of Otto and Elizabeth (Fraser) Bergman, was born on July 28, 1942. In 1965, Robert married Karen Shelton.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Pamela (Kelly) VenHuizen; sons, Todd (Michelle) and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Ashley Bergman, Reed Bergman, Ryan Bergman, Jack VenHuizen and Klaire VenHuizen; brothers, Kenneth (Marian), Ronald (Sandee) and James (Marilyn); sisters, Carol (Douglas) Lindekugel, Alda (Jack) Carter, Sally (David) Duval and Lois Bergman (Tim); sister-in-law, Jan Bergman and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Lynne (Gary) Boettcher and brother, Ralph.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Bottineau County Veteran’s Hall, Turtle Mountain Cancer Support or an organization of your choice.
