Richard "Strikes II" Perry Henry Sr, age 46 of Parshall, ND passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 on arrival to a Stanley, ND hospital.  His funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.  His wake will be on Monday starting at 3:00 pm at the center.

Richard Perry Henry Sr. was born on April 21, 1977 in Rolette County to John Henry Jr. and Clarine Ross. He was the second oldest of 10 siblings.  Richard received his Indian name "Strikes II" from his late maternal grandfather, Perry Cadwell Ross.

Richard met Rachel Belgarde while attending Dunseith High School and together they share two children, Richard Henry Jr (26), and Tehya Henry (18). Richard loved being outside working on his go carts, ATV's, and snowmobiles. He liked to draw. His favorite charter to draw and quote was the joker. He loved listening to music and spending time with friends and family. Some of his favorite artists were Hank Williams Sr. and Jr., Johnny Cash, Yelawolf, and Eminem. Those that knew him best also referred to him as "Hank". Richard was extremely proud of and enjoyed learning about his traditional ways. Richard was an all-around great friend and sibling he was always willing to help when asked. No matter what the situation if he could help he would be there. To Richard, his greatest achievement in life were his two children Richard Jr. and Tehya. His eyes lit up and his heart was complete when he was with them, or even just talking about them. His proudest and happiest moments came from his time spent with them.

Richard is survived by his two children Richard Henry Jr., and Tehya Henry both of Parshall ND; parents, John Henry Jr of Dunseith, ND and Clarine Ross of Parshall, ND his sisters, Felicia (Brady) Parisien of Dunseith ND, Ashley Henry (Scott) of Minot ND, Brandy Nelson (Daniel) of Parshall ND; his brothers, Eric Henry of Parshall ND, Josh Poitra (Clarissa) of Dunseith ND, Dylan Nelson of Parshall ND, and many nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Selma Packineau and Perry Ross; his paternal grandparents, Bernice Henry and John Henry Sr., and his siblings Christin Ross, Gary "Frank" Henry, Francine Henry and Corwin Nelson.
