Rhonda Beyer, age 58 of Bottineau, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her parent's home in Bottineau.  Her memorial service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the United Parish in Bottineau.

Rhonda Beyer, daughter of Howard and Dorothy Beyer, was born on April 22nd, 1964 at St. Andrews Hospital in Bottineau, North Dakota. Rhonda died, on January 15th, 2023 with her parents by her side, at their home in Bottineau, after a near lifelong battle with Anorexia Nervosa. In many ways, Rhonda triumphed over her disease by simply continuing to live.

Rhonda was raised in Bottineau and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1982. She was a 1987 graduate of the University of North Dakota, with a degree in Social Work, choosing this area of study, driven by her great sense of compassion and concern for the welfare of others.

Although the challenges of anorexia kept her from ever working fulltime in her chosen field, she worked in jobs that kept her in contact with people on a very personal level, always forming strong bonds with colleagues and customers alike. She was frequently a favorite of those with whom she worked, both with and for.

In 1991 Rhonda married Scott Hunskor of Newburg. They lived in Minneapolis, Bottineau and Newburg and were married until 1998. Rhonda later lived in Fargo before moving to Minneapolis in 2001 where she resided until 2021. While in Minneapolis she worked in food service management at D'Brian's, a local deli chain where she was a most valued and loved employee.

Health concerns and limitations caused her to stop working in 2017. In opposition to her strong will and fierce sense of independence, further health concerns necessitated a move back to Bottineau in 2021 where she resided until her death on January 15th.

Rhonda remains loved and is survived by her parents, Howard and Dorothy (Caine) Beyer of Bottineau, brother Joel of Minneapolis, sister Kerry (Luther) Olson of Souris, nieces Becky (Preston) Feakes of Fessenden, Katy (Dylan) Drader of Bottineau and nephew Nate Olson, Minot. She is also survived by 4 great-nephews, many aunts and uncles and 24 first cousins. Rhonda is preceded in death by an aunt, two uncles, one cousin and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A funeral and celebration of Rhonda's life was held at the United Parish Church in Bottineau on Monday, January 23, 2023.
