Rhona R. Wolf-Tanner, 60, of Dunseith, ND passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at home unexpectedly. Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.  Her wake will be on Thursday, starting at 5:00 pm at the center.

Rhona was born on July 30, 1963, in Hazen, ND, to John Melk and Eunice Parisien. Her grandparents Emma (Parisien) and Jimmy Belgarde raised her in Dunseith, ND. She helped raise her younger siblings. She lived in Dunseith but lived in Beulah at times. She married Doran Wolf and welcomed two children together, Rhianon and Joseph. They divorced, and she moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1986. Once in Libby, Montana, she met Allyn Buff, whom she married and later divorced. She then made a life with Park until he passed away. She then met Jerry Tanner, married in 2004, but separated recently. She attended college and held various jobs, the most recent being a bartender at Dales Lounge. She lived in many states and settled outside of Dunseith, ND.

Rhona touched many lives and was a mother figure to many; she made lasting bonds wherever she went. She was a wonderful woman with an infectious laugh and personality. She loved her jewelry collections, purses, make-up, and many other things. She loved making designs out of everything. She enjoyed cooking and making fleischkeukle (a German dish) and fry bread that she acquired from her mother-in-law; she loved to make it for her family and friends. She enjoyed having bonfires with her loved ones, making smores, and having a few adult beverages. She had plans for the upcoming summer for gardening and canning various vegetables and eggs, and she loved the salsa made by her daughter Rhianon. She loved music and a bedazzled guitar that was just her style.

Rhona is survived by her children Rhianon (Mandan, ND) and Joseph Wolf (Mandan, ND), her father John Melk Sr (Las Vegas, NV), her brother John Melk Jr (Sparks, NV), Stuart Robillard (Mandan, ND), half brother Joseph Robillard (Norfolk, VA), half-sister Ann Robillard (Seattle WA), many nieces and nephews, goddaughter Keihle Paula Jean Houle (Dunseith, ND), and her fur-baby Sheeba a.k.a Wiggles.
Rhona is preceded in death by her mother, Eunice Phillips, her grandparents, great-grandparents, step-sister Renee Melk, and many aunts and uncles.
