Norman Sivertson, age 82 of Bottineau, died Saturday at a Bottineau nursing home.  His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Lake Metigoshe Christian Center.  Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at the at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Norman Sivertson, a son of Selmer and Olga (Iverson) Sivertson, was born on December 14, 1935 at Carbury.  He grew up on the family farm in the Turtle Mountains.  At a young age, he began working as a carpenter at Newberger's in Bottineau.  He married Marilyn Wall and this marriage later ended.  On July 12, 1961, he married Irene Brekke at Bowbells, ND.  In 1975, he began his own construction company and he worked until 2016 when he retired due to his health.  He moved into the Good Samaritan Center in Bottineau on January 17, 2017.

Norman enjoyed working in his garden and looking after his cattle.

Norman passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at a Bottineau nursing home.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of Bottineau; sons, Dave (Dyann) Sivertson of Minot. Larry Sivertson of Cando, Jerry Sivertson and Lonnie Sivertson both of Bottineau, and Don (Mary) Sivertson of Fargo; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sandford (Shirley) Sivertson; Lyle Sivertson and Kenny (Juliene) Sivertson; sisters, Florence Pedie, Shirley (Lowell) Kofoid and Gladys (Merle) Stevens and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, LaRae Hints, an infant son; brothers, Bud, Lloyd and Glenn; sister, Evelyn and grandchildren, Eric Sivertson and Kelly Sivertson.
