Obituary

Nola Biberdorf, age 90, of Bottineau, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Bottineau, North Dakota.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau, with visitation beginning one hour prior.  Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Kramer, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.

Nola was born on May 30, 1935, in Landa, ND, to her mother, Verna Anderson. She graduated from Landa High School and later married the love of her life, Donald Biberdorf, on December 8, 1953, in Butte, MT. Together they built a life rooted in hard work, partnership, and deep devotion.

After returning to North Dakota, they moved to the Turtle Mountains in 1963, where they built a home and a life on a farm with their children. There, they opened Don's Meat Cutting and later expanded their work to include selling Vermeer round balers and raising cattle. They retired from meat cutting in the early 1980s but continued their Vermeer business until retiring fully. Don passed away on June 16, 2011, and Nola remained on the farm that she loved.

Nola was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau. She was a charter member of TOPS and served on the Good Samaritan Nursing Home Board. She found joy in gardening, quilting, and caring for her yard. She also had a special love for bird-watching, especially the hummingbirds that visited her.

Nola was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother. She was steady and dependable; someone her family could always count on. She listened, offered practical encouragement, and showed her care through her actions. Her family remembers her as gentle, supportive, and quietly strong. Time with her was simple and comfortable, often spent at her kitchen table working on a puzzle with a cup of coffee, watching the birds outside, or visiting with whoever stopped by. Her door was always open, and she genuinely enjoyed company. She was known for being perky and having a great sense of humor.

She is survived by her daughters: Vernetta Kirk of Westhope, ND; Kathy Reimche of Portland, OR; Karen Engelstad of Hayden Lake, ID; and Kim Lagerquist of Athol, ID; her son, Danny Biberdorf and his wife, Michelle, of Bottineau, ND; her sister, Oline Klabo of Landa; and 20 grandchildren; 32 great‑grandchildren; 9 great‑great‑grandchildren with 3 more expected soon.

.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Verna Anderson; sister, Nelda Etier; brother, Verdine Klokstad; and sons‑in‑law, Dan Kirk and Steve Lagerquist.
