Neil Onarheim, age 56 of Bottineau, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Bottineau. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Neil Onarheim, a son of Einar and Delores (Moen) Onarheim, was born on July 12, 1964 in Bottineau. He was raised in Bottineau and started working for his dad. He graduated from Bottineau High, where he was called Mr. Dependable on the basketball team. He later played basketball in college. in 1985, he moved to Iowa and became a division sales manager for a company and managed 10 stores. He remained at the top for 25 successful years, receiving many trips, rewards and honors. Neil was married in 1989 and had 2 wonderful children. Tyler Allen entered the world in 1991 and in 1997 they welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Gabrielle Rae. This marriage later ended. In 2001, he met his best friend and love of his life, Jo. In 2009, he returned to Bottineau and worked with his dad and brother, Mark. He then became a property manager and had several other jobs.
If you ever saw Neil on the road, you could bet there was a wave hello and a smile coming your way. He treated everyone like family. He had a heart of gold and loved his family very much. He enjoyed spending time with family, decorating his dad's yard with flowers and Christmas lights. He also enjoyed watching sports.
He is survived by his best friend and love of is life, Jo; his father, Einar Onarheim of Bottineau; children, Tyler and Mandy of Bottineau and Gabrielle and Keagan of Cedar Rapids, IA; brothers, Brad and Steve and their spouses; sister, Maria; one uncle; several aunts; one niece and many nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores (Moen) Onarheim; brother, Mark Onarheim; sister, Shelly Onarheim Barnes; uncles, Merle and Dennis Moen and Bjarne Onarheim.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
