Mildred Williams, age 97 of Bottineau, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at a Bottineau hospital. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.
Mildred Williams, a daughter of Albert and Margaret (Hahn) Engebretson, was born on September 10, 1923 at Willow City. She was raised on the family farm northwest of Willow City. She attended First Lutheran Church of Willow City, ND where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended Willow City Public School and went on to college at Minot State College. She moved to Bottineau in 1942 and was employed at the Bottineau County Treasurer's Office until 1949 when she married William (Bill) Williams and they moved to Mohall, ND until 1953. In 1953 they moved to the Williams family farm southwest of Bottineau to engage in farming.
Mildred was a member of First Lutheran Church of Bottineau since 1953. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for several years and enjoyed being involved with the Mission Aide of First Lutheran, Bottineau
Mildred enjoyed sewing and in her later years made blankets and sent them to different missions around the world. She also enjoyed playing the violin and loved living on the farm. Mildred will be remembered for the great love shown to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mildred passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at St. Andrews Health Center.
She is survived by 2 sons, Steven Williams (Tatianna) of Montgomery, TX and Barry Williams (Robin) of Bottineau; 3 daughters, Kathy O'Brien (Paul) of Blanchard, OK, Barb Arntzen (Dan Hanken) Prescott, WI, and Deanna Klingbeil (James) of Bottineau, ND; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and sister's Beatrice Soland and Kathleen Sebelius.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
