Mildred Sather went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025 at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva, North Dakota.
Mildred 98, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Mildred was born in Bottineau, N.D. to Agnus and Olaf Monson on July 9, 1927 She was raised with strong midwestern values and married the love of her life Arthur Sather on November 30,1946. Together they built a life rich in faith, family and friendship. They enjoyed playing cards, square dancing and visiting with family and friends who were always welcomed into their home.
A dedicated and caring woman, Mildred worked for the Bottineau School District for 35 years touching the lives of countless students and co-workers. Her devotion extended to her faith community as a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in Bottineau, where she served faithfully in many capacities.
Mildred's greatest joy came from raising her family. She is survived by her children, Darrell Sather, Sherry Braaten (Norman "Bo") her grandchildren Kelly Sather and Heidi Bearden (Shawn), her great-grandchildren Tyler Bearden, Sydney Bearden, Nolan Sather, Rhys Sather and her brother Ronald Monson.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Sather and her siblings Stella Kamrud, Evelyn Holdaas Gladys Solper and Arlan Monson.
She cherished each of them and leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and faithfulness.
Mildred will be long remembered for her kindness and her love of baking and cooking to share with family and friends. Her life was a testament to quiet strength, steadfast faith and power of family.
The family of Mildred would like to express our heart felt appreciation to the entire staff of Souris Valley Care Center in Velva, North Dakota for their care and compassion provided to our mother. With hearts full of admiration to each of you we thank you.
Services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Bottineau on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 am. IN lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Bottineau County Veterans c/o Al Wondrasek.
