Obituary

Mary Granum age 91 of Minot formerly of Bottineau, died Wednesday at a Minot hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.
Mary Evelyn (McKay) Granum, age 91,  passed away August 29, 2018 in Minot, ND.  Mary was born in Dunseith, ND on December 10, 1926.  She was the youngest of 9 children born to George and Minnie McKay.  Mary attended grade school in Dunseith and the family moved to Renton, WA where she attended high school.  She went on to get her beautician's license.  Mary worked for Peal Larson in Westhope, ND then moved to Bottineau and worked for Twila Glintz and subsequently bought the beauty shop and it became Mary's Beauty Salon.  She owned and operated the shop for 15 years before retiring and moving to Grand Forks, ND, Fargo, ND Bismarck, ND and then to Minot, ND in 2014.
Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bottineau. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and had a great love to dance.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society while living in Bismarck.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters and her husbands, Hoyt Lee, Reuben Hanson and Oscar (Shorty) Granum.  She is survived by her son Clifton Lee wife Barbara, her daughter Barbara (Hanson) Whalen and husband Jeffrey, her three grandchildren Kristinn (Mark) Hiatt of Kindred, ND, Travis (Amanda) Lee of Minot, ND and Jennifer Whalen of New York, her four great grandchildren Brooke and Jacob Hiatt, Tatum and Payten Lee.  Her greatest treasures and joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
