Marlys Faye Houle, age 59 of Shell Valley, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home.  Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.  A wake will be held on Wednesday starting at 3:00 pm at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.

Marlys Faye Houle, a daughter of Robert and Irene Beston, was born on April 12, 1961 in Rolette.  She was raised in Dunseith are and attended the Dunseith Day School and Wahpeton Indian Boarding School.  She loved going to the Casino, riding on the pontoon and fishing.  She also loved cooking fry bread, having cookouts with her kids and family and spending time with her grandkids and nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her children, Carrie (Mike) Cree, Christy Davis, Courtney Houle, Carly Houle, Justin Beston and Randall Davis; 29 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marla Fox, Maurice Faine, Tammy Davis and Edie Akins; brothers, Richard (Bazzle) Beston, Terry (Jigs) Beston and Kevin Beston and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin J. Houle Sr, son, Baby Alvin J. Houle Jr, granddaughter, Heavenly Rose Davis; sister, Pamela Sue Beston; brothers, Mowen Beston, Robert Beston Jr, Ervin Beston, Dale Beston, Wayne Arnold Beston Sr, and Gordon (Gumball) Beston.
