Obituary

Marlene LaVonne (Allen) Derr 84, Colorado Springs, CO passed away peacefully at the Living Center at Sunny Vista, on Thursday August 6, 2020.  A private service will be held.

Marlene was born December 23, 1935 in Mohall ND to Leroy and Myrtle (Sanvik) Allen. She graduated from Mohall High School in 1954.

Marlene married Gerald Derr April 2, 1954 at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage. They raised 5 children in and around the Mohall area. They moved to Louisburg KS in 1987, moved back to Mohall in 1997 and the final move to Colorado Springs CO in 2004. Marlene and Gerry were married 52 years before Gerry's passing in August 2006.

Marlene worked at several different jobs in North Dakota, Kansas and Colorado, nurses aid, bookkeeper and church secretary to name a few. She had several interests, sewing, playing bridge, attended many rodeos, Marlene and Gerry were avid Yellow Jacket fans and followed their sons high school sporting years and later got involved in 4-H and horse showing. In the last few years she was always in the middle of any family gathering.

Marlene is survived by her children, Gerriann (Jim) Larson, Colorado Springs, CO, Jim Derr, Colorado Springs, CO, David (Sheila) Derr, Sturgis SD, John (Lori) Derr Bottineau ND, Matthew (Ann) Derr Colorado Springs CO Grand children, Geremy (Adrienne) Larson, Overland Park KS, Joseph (Allison) Larson, Windsor CO, Joshua (Christy Hays) Larson, Greeley CO, Staff Sargent Adam (Brandy) Derr, Sturgis SD stationed at Grafenwohr Bavaria Germany in the Army, Zachary (Mikayla) Derr, Bottineau ND, Chelsey (Matt) Norby, Minot ND, Eli Derr, Bottineau ND, Tristan Derr Colorado Springs CO. Hilary Ross, Olathe, KS. Great Grandchildren Ashton and Gentry Larson Overland Park KS, Makenna and Dalany Larson, Windsor CO, Remmi Derr, Bottineau ND, Case Norby, Minot ND, Step great grandchildren Shayelynn (Bud Carlsen) Williams Port Orange FL, Kyle Herder, Loveland, stationed in Norfolk, VA in the Navy, Diesel and Aspen Hays, Greeley CO and Great great grandchildren Brooklynn and Adalynn Carlsen Port Orange FL, sisters Joan (Francis) Caussyn, Rapid City SD, Gloria (Gerry) Crawford, Silverdale WA. And several nieces, nephews, and cousins,

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and grandsons Thomas J Derr and Brandon Ross.
