Mark "Muskrat" Wesley Morin, age 59 of Dunseith, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at a Minot hospital. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 am at the St. Michael's Catholic church in Dunseith. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time in the church.
Mark Wesley Morin was born to Eugene Morin & Germaine Davis on February 10th, 1961 in Oakland, California. Mark lived in California and Colorado until 1974 where he then moved to North Dakota.
Mark met Sandra in 1978 and they were married on May 30th, 1980. They celebrated 40 years of marriage and were well known as Muskrat and Beaver. Together they had four children: Alisha, Christina, Wesley, and Cassandra.
Mark worked at The San Haven Hospital as an Orderly, the Rolette Community Care Center as a Nurse's Aide and Custodian, Benchmark as a Custodian, but he was mostly known for his trade as a Mechanic and Gunsmith.
Mark loved spending time with his family and friends. As a boy, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping which continued into his adult years. He made frequent trips to Beulah, ND to hunt, fish, and golf with his brother Joe. Later in Marks life, he spent most of his time with his children and grandchildren, making sure they each had their own special nicknames. He enjoyed listening to rock music, mostly CCR and taking rides in the country with his wife.
Mark is survived by his wife Sandra (Baker) Morin, children: Alisha Morin, Christina Morin, & Wesley Morin, 11 grandchildren, brothers: Timothy (Gail) Morin, Joe (Beth) Poitra, Ernie (Lori) Poitra, stepbrothers: Laris (Alice) Longie and Brody Short, sisters: Lisa Poitra, Terri (Jim) Etzel, and his nieces and nephews.
Mark preceded in death by his grandparents – Bruno and Ida; Israel and Amanda, mother – Germaine, daughter – Cassandra, brothers – George and Kevin, sister – Rhonda, and a nephew.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net
