Obituary

Mark Anthony Azure, 63, of Dunseith, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 30, at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. He was born on February 15, 1962 to James and Vita Azure of Dunseith, ND. He was the second oldest sibling of 6.

Mark graduated from the Turtle Mountain High School in 1980. He then joined the workforce by working various construction jobs in his younger days. He married his wife, Shelly on July 20, 1985. They had 2 children, Jesse and Chelsea. He worked as assistant manager at Wayne's Food Pride for a large part of his life. He also was the clubhouse manager at the Garden Gate Golf Course for ten plus years.

Mark loved his family most. He also loved playing all sports along with cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Boston Celtics. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and was very good at this skill. He so loved his 3 granddaughters, which brought him so much happiness, joy, peace and pride!

Mark was survived by his wife, Shelly; son, Jesse Azure; daughter, Chelsea (Ricky) Counts; granddaughters, Tayla Azure, Bailee Azure and Oaklynn Counts; sisters, Jackie (Ramsey) Delorme, Bobbi Jo (Petey) Azure; brothers, Stacy (Jessica) Azure and Jamie Azure and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, most from the Dunseith area.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vita Azure; one brother, Kenny Azure and grandparents, Mike and Josephine Poitra and Moses and Mary Azure.

Wake/Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 am to 2 pm, Rosary and Eulogy from 2 pm to 3 pm followed by Mass at 3:00 pm at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND on Friday, June 6th. A meal will be provided at the Eagle Heart Building in Dunseith, ND following Mass and burial.
