Obituary

Marilyn Wolfe, age 89 of Bottineau, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at a Bismarck hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 1:00 pm with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Marilyn Luella Amsbaugh Wolfe, the baby of 8 children born to Bert and Ella (Helgeson) Mattern, was born on October 4, 1933 at Norma, ND. Marilyn graduated from Bottineau High School in 1952.  She then married Marvin Amsbaugh at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  They were blessed with 5 children.  Marvin passed away suddenly on May 19, 1971. On December 1, 1972, she married Donald Wolfe.  Marilyn worked for Fagerland Yamaha before going to Keller and Raymo's where she worked until retiring in 1997.

Marilyn was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  She enjoyed volunteering for the St. Andrew's Hospital Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels.  She also enjoyed watching professional sports, bowling and watching the Game Show Network and playing cards especially Pinochle and Cribbage. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports especially hockey.  She looked forward to her Thursday morning coffee at the church, getting her hair done on Friday and then having coffee with her friends.  She also enjoyed attending church every Sunday followed by coffee and visiting.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Wolfe; children, Deb (Don) Glinz, Connie Blada, Mark (Dawn) Amsbaugh, Rick (Mary Beth) Amsbaugh and Paul (Kelley) Amsbaugh; grandchildren, Brian (Alison), Matt, Derek (Lyndsey), Jamie (Jaclyn), Erik (Bethany), Nick (Ashley), Ginny (Jerry), Mackenzie (Cameron), Luke (Allie) and Ian (Averi); great-grandchildren, Dawson, Bryson, Brody, Fynley, Rayce, Ryder, Morgan. Madison, Myles, Mason, Presley, Leightyn, Lyndi, Blake and Judd; sister, Vivian Thompson, sisters-in-law, Denise Capito and Edna Peterson; brother-in-law, Laverne Larson and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Marvin, Marilyn was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Blada; siblings, Reuben Mattern, Evelyn Christensen, Alma Peterson, Harold Mattern, Mabel Steen and Eldon Mattern; mother and father-in-law, Marvin and Elva Wolfe and brother-in-law, Kenny Wolfe.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net .
