Marilyn Weyer, age 84 of Minot formerly Westhope, lost her battle with Alzheimer's on Friday, September 29, 2023 at a Velva nursing home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Westhope. Burial will be at the Westhope Cemetery.
Marilyn Marie Weyer, a daughter of Alonzo and Muriel (Walsh) Gray, was born on June 4, 1939 in New England, ND. She graduated from Wibaux High School. On July 2, 1957, she married Raymond L. Weyer in Glendive, MT. They moved to Tioga where Ray began his career in oil with KBM. In 1970, they moved to Westhope where Marilyn worked as an aide at the Westhope Nursing Home and as a daycare provider for some of her grandchildren. Ray and Marilyn purchased Ham's Well Service from Red Ham in 1975. They retired in 1993 and moved to Minot because of health issues. Ray passed away on May 25, 2002. Marilyn remained in Minot for the remainder of her life.
Marilyn was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Westhope where she was a member of the Altar Society. Marilyn was also a breast cancer survivor.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Muriel (Daryl) Andersen of Lake Metigoshe and Tanya (Jeff) Cooper of Westhope; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Claudia Bakken of Wibaux, MT; sisters-in-law, Vivian Gray and Jean Jacobsen both of Montana and numerous nieces and nephews who each held a special place in her heart.
Loved ones that she has been reunited with that preceded her in death are her husband of 45 years, Raymond L. Weyer; daughter, Shawna; her mother, father and step-father; sisters, Shirley and Darlene and brothers, Dennis and Bernie.
