Obituary

Lyle "Jap" Beston, age 54 of Dunseith, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at a Minot hospital.  His funeral will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.  His wake will be Thursday starting at 4:00 pm at the Center.

Lyle "Jap" Beston, a son of Louis and Ilene (Norquay) Beston was born on December 22, 1968 in Belcourt.  He attended the Dunseith Day School and Wahpeton Boarding School.  He later went on to receive his GED.  He lived in Dunseith most of his life doing various jobs such as fencing and working on cars.

Jap enjoyed spending time with the boys, playing pinochle, throwing dice and taking care of his Baby G.  He loved Geraleigh, Baby G and Mizahay.  He was the best daddy ever.  Jap had many, many, many wives and he loved them all.  He invented the famous Jap Slap and he will be forever missed.

He is survived by his sisters, Sherry Beston and Bonnie Norquay of Dunseith; brothers, Duane (Joan) Beston of White Rock UT and Jason Norquay if Dunseith; Aunt, Rosie Norquay of Dunseith and many nieces and nephews; Godchildren, Teriann Beston of Dunseith and Jerome Beston of White Rocks, UT and special friends, Terrance "Jiggs" Beston and Terry "Perkins" DeCoteau.

He was preceded in death by parents; siblings, Flora Picotte, Arnold Beston. Gail Smoke and Virgil Beston; special nephews, Perry Caske Picotte and Frank Belgarde; niece, Alicia Beston and many other loved ones.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
