Lori
Wintermute-Glein
Oct 11, 1979 — Jan 12, 2023
Lori Wintermute-Glein, age 43 of Minot formerly of Bottineau, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at a Minot hospital. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm followed by a prayer service at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
Lori Sue Wintermute,43, entered this world kicking and screaming within fifteen minutes of her parents, Darrell and Susan (Brandvold) Wintermute, arriving at the hospital on October 11, 1979 in Bottineau, ND and began her adventure on earth. She was always on the go, wanting to be busy with something or going somewhere.
Lori attended Bottineau Public School and was actively involved in sports and numerous other organizations, graduating in 1998. She attended MSU-Bottineau for 2 years where she also played basketball and volleyball for the Lady Jacks and later graduated from Minot State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Lori attended Headquarters Academy of Hair Design, earning her Cosmetology License. In 2002, Lori was married Brian Johnson. This marriage ended in 2003. She then married Kyle Glein in 2009 and together have a daughter. This marriage ended in May 2022.
Lori loved people and truly enjoyed her people connections. Whether it was hanging out in the barns at the county fairs,4-H, FFA, Youth Group events, or a get-together, she would be in the middle of whatever was going on. Lori was blessed with so many God-given talents. She could do whatever she put her mind to. She was so creative as an artist, seamstress, crafter, writer and was at her best when she could be creating her next project.
Lori's faith and family were very important to her. She loved her Lord and knew He was always holding her in His loving arms no matter what joys or challenges life would bring. And she loved being part of a big extended family and knew the love and support they gave her.
Lori definitely had a mind of her own and if anyone said she couldn't do something she would make it her mission to prove them wrong. Her favorite quote is "Life is not waiting for the storm to pass. It's learning to dance in the rain." Lori made a difference and there probably isn't one person that knows her that can't say how their life was impacted because of Lori.
Lori is survived by her daughter, Skylar Glein-Minot; parents, brother Andrew (Tamara) Wintermute, Nephews, Kaleb and Jack Wintermute, niece Josie Wintermute, maternal grandmother Janis Brandvold, all of Bottineau; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Marvin Brandvold, paternal grandparents Donald and Helen Wintermute, maternal great grandparents Julius and Irene Gonitzke and Harold and Zelma Brandvold; paternal great grandparents James and Hilda Jacobson.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
