Obituary

Loretta Bernstein, age 84 of Bottineau, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at a Minot hospital.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 starting at 1:00 pm with a service at 5:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Loretta Bernstein, a daughter of Clarence and Myrtle (Ihla) Aasheim, was born on December 17, 1937 at Bottineau Hospital. She was raised on the family farm near Carbury and graduated from Souris High School in 1955. After graduating high school, she worked at Lien's Jewelry in Bottineau for a short time. Once she married the love of her life Loren Bernstein on April 3, 1956, she decided to help work on his family farm full time.

They had 3 sons together and were involved in many activities. She was an active member and leader of Christians Women's club, a cub scout den mother, 4-H leader, member of ND Angus Association, and a Sunday school teacher at church. A side business she had and loved, was baking wedding cakes for women around the community.

She is survived by her sons,  Sam and Jeff of Bottineau, Dan (Hope Adam) of Fargo; Grandchildren: Jamison (Mari) and Lexi (Bryce Brown); great-grandchildren, Madix and soon to be baby girl; Sister-in-law, Connie Aasheim and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by her husband Loren of 63 years; her parents; sister Mavis and brothers, Theodore and Daniel.
