Obituary

Lois W. Lee, age 89, of Minot, ND, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Edgewood Assisted Living.

Lois Lee, the daughter of Louise and William Steinhaus, was born on October 13, 1931, at Westhope, ND. She was raised on a family farm in Bentick Township.

Lois married Thomas Lee on February 5, 1949, in Landa, ND, at the Lutheran Church.

Lois worked various jobs in the Westhope area. She started her career with the Postal Service as a clerk in 1960. She was appointed Postmaster in January 1981 and retired on March 1, 1998. She was very dedicated to her position at the Post Office and went over and above on customer service.

Lois's favorite place to be was at Lake Metigoshe. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and going on pontoon rides. This is one of the many joys she shared with her family. She always had her door open for friends and family to stop in. She hosted many Lee and Steinhaus reunions. She enjoyed attending her grandkids and great grandkids sport and school activities.

She is survived by daughters Twyla Lee and Thea (Mike) Holm of Minot; Son Scott Lee of Bakersfield, CA; Daughter-In-Law Gayle Lee of Minot; 9 grandchildren, Annette (Paul) Foss, Anthony (Christy) Lee; Holly (Kelly) Perrin, Tyler (Lauren) Ballantyne, Joshua (Molly) Lee, Tessa Lee; Jessica (Alphonse) Ramos; Maura Holm, Alex Holm and 16 great grandchildren; sister Beverly Witteman, Mohall; brother Willard (Marjorie) Steinhaus, Westhope; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Peggy DeMars, Audrey Deschamp, Delores (Corky) Robillard and Ruthie Erickson, husband Thomas, sons Jackie and Ken, and great grandson Paxton.
