Lisa Sorenson, age 56 of Minot, formerly of Bottineau, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at her home in Minot.  Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Lake Metigoshe Christian Center.

Lisa was born July 8,  1967 to Leonard and Oddbjorg (Audrey) Tofteland at the Mohall Hospital. She was raised on the Tofteland Homestead 4 miles south of Antler, ND and attended Antler school until her family moved to Lake Metigoshe in 1978.   Lisa enjoyed the Bottineau School and excelled in academics and athletics.  She loved playing Basketball, volleyball and track.  Upon Graduation in 1985, Lisa attended Dakota College and transferred to Minot State College and completed a degree in General Studies.

Lisa was blessed with the birth of her son, Michael, in 2000 which created a new love and joy to her life.  Lisa and Michael were partners throughout her life shared his academics, football, baseball, choir and school activities.  Together, they were avid sports enthusiasts especially when it came to football and baseball.   Lisa loved the stats and winnings of the Pittsburgh Steelers against Michael's Green Bay Packers, and together they enjoyed a fall trip to their game.

Lisa had a Heart of Gold and was loyal and faithful to her family and friends.  She was extremely kind and loved getting together with the families, as well as meeting new friends.  Lisa looked forward to watching the games and activities of her great nephews and cousins, and the first to cheer them on.    Lisa kept active with the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Minot and Sons of Norway.  She held special memories along with Michael at the Metigoshe Camp and Christian Center.

Lisa cherished the Proud moment of attending Michael's College graduation at NDSU Fargo in December.  She was so excited and proud of her son.   She continued on with a busy December by visiting her favorite and dear cousin, Sonya, in Arizona and back to ND to join her families for the Christmas holiday.  Lisa had a wonderful and white Christmas with her loving Son and family, which will hold a special memory for All.

Lisa was preceeded in death by her father and mother, Leonard Tofteland and Oddbjorg (Audrey) Kalsnes Tofteland Stenberg;  Stepfather, Robert Stenberg; and grand-parents.

Lisa is survived by her Son, Michael Sorenson;  Brothers: Chris (Nancy) Tofteland, Bottineau, ND and Scott (Tammy) Tofteland, Waupun, WI.   Nephews: Colin Tofteland, Kevin (Bridget) Tofteland, Eric (Kendra) Tofteland, all of Minot; Cody (Sara) Olson, WI.  Great Nephews: Aiden, Connor and Torbjorn (Thor) Tofteland, Minot.
