Linda DeCoteau, age 66 of Belcourt, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at a Grand Forks hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 10:00 am at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church near Belcourt.  Her wake will be on Wednesday, Starting at 3:00 pm at the church.

Linda Marie DeCoteau was born September 2, 1957 to Leo Peltier Sr. and Mary (Tiny) Peltier in Belcourt, ND.  Linda started her journey to the spirit world February 12, 2024 at the age of 66. She was raised in Belcourt where she attended school, along with her brothers and sisters.  She furthered her education by obtaining a Bachelors in Business from TMCC and Medical Coding Certificate from AVTI.

Linda pursued multiple careers throughout her life that took her various places, but often talked fondly about the work she had done for her brother Leonard Peltier.

She was an endearing wife of 16 years to Robert(Boozie), as well as a loving mother to two children, her daughter Tina, and son Leonard. She was a prideful grandmother to Monique, and great-grandmother to Precious, both of whom she had raised.

Linda liked to dance, sing karaoke, and cause mayhem in her younger years. She's enjoyed many things over time such as reading, watching scary shows, cracking jokes, going to bingo, playing cards, and gambling on occasion, but nothing more than spending time with her family, friends, and fur babies.

Linda will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Linda is survived by her husband Robert (Boozie) DeCoteau of Belcourt ND, Daughter Tina Azure, Son Leonard Lee Wessels Sr. Granddaughters- Monique Azure and Tineka Azure. Grandsons- Bosley Wessels, Leonard Wessels Jr, and Miguel Wessels. Great grandchildren- Precious Azure and Leighton Azure. Brothers- Leonard Peltier, Richard (Spunky) LaFromboise, and Irvin Peltier Sr. Sisters- Betty Solano, Julia DeCoteau, and Sheila (Pokey) Peltier. Fur babies- Honey and Felony as well as many Nephews and Nieces

Linda is proceeded in death by her parents Leo Peltier Sr, and Mary (Tiny) Peltier, brothers David (John Sack) LaFromboise and Leo (Pucksey) Peltier Jr. , sister Vivian Mendoza, and nephew Conway (Bosley) Wessels.
