Leroy Fuchs, age 84 of Minot, formerly of Bottineau, died Friday, December 18, 2020 at a Minot care center. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
Norbert Leroy Fuchs, a son of Norbert Adam and Noami (Flora) Fuchs, was born on January 16, 1936 at Kenmare. He was raised at Tolley, ND and then Kramer where he attended school. At the age of 16, he began working for the Soo Line Railroad doing track maintence. He served in the North Dakota National Guard for a time. On October, 14, 1967, he married Joann Smith in Bottineau. They made their home in Kramer. Leroy retired from the railroad in 1983 due to an injury. They moved to Bottineau in 1991. Joann passed away on February 27, 2020.
Leroy enjoyed spending time at Lake Metigoshe and drinking coffee. He served on the Kramer Volunteer Fire Dept and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Debbi (Vinnie) Lovelace of Minot and Patti Jo (Nate) Hagerott of Minot; grandchildren, Alyssa (Mitch) Thompson of Bottineau, Kaitlyn Sivertson of Minot, Lexi Lovelace of Minot, Madison (Dylan) Hagerott of Berthold, ND and Ezra, Finli and Ian Hagerott of Minot; great grandchildren, Addison and Emily Thompson of Bottineau and Bryker and Remington Nyhusmoen of Berthold, ND; brothers, Donald (Janice) Fuchs of Albuquerque, NM; and James (Donna) Fuchs of Devils Lake sisters-in-law, June Smith of Las Vegas, Erma (Morris) Berg of Lynden, WA, Joyce Helgeson of Bottineau and; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Joann and his parents, Norbert Adam and Noami Fuchs.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Kramer Fire Department or an organization of your choosing.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
