Leone Nickelson, age 75 of Bottineau, passed away on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at St. Alexis Hospital in Bismarck. Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 2:00pm at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Luncheon to follow at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites.

Alice Leone Nickelson, A daughter of Art & Alice (Rameden)Peterson, was born on June 28, 1947 in Kenmare, ND. Leone was raised in Bowbells. She went to school in Bowbells & graduated in 1965. Leone later on moved to Bottineau & started working at the Blue Diamond Cafe, where she met her husband Arland Nickelson. She married Arland on January 22nd of 1970. They had three kids. George, Alan & Darcy. They raised their kids in numerous town of North Dakota before moving back to Bottineau in 1975. In 1985 Arland & Leone divorced.

Leone worked for Blue Diamond Cafe, Cenex part-time, Food service Industry, & Dakota College at Bottineau where she later on retired in 2007. She voluntered at the Good Samartian of Bottineau & for the Senior Compain. She was a hardworking woman. She always made sure that her family was taken care of. When she worked for the Dakota of College at Bottineau, she treated all of the college students like family. Leone would make big holiday meals for those students who didn't go home for the holidays or breaks. She truly loved taking care of everyone.

Leone loved to walk & be outside in the sun. She loved scrapbooking & crafting. She made her grandchildren each a graduation scrapbook with all their memories together. She loved all of her animals that she has had. She loved taking care of her family & friends.

Leone is survived by her sons George(Lori) Nickelson of Bottineau, Alan(Kim) Nickelson of Bottineau, Darcy (Mike) Sanderson of Lignite, Sisters Amy of Gary, SD, Berty of Devils Lake, ND & many grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.

Leone was preceded into death by her parents Art & Alice Peterson, Her ex husband Arland Nickelson.
