LaVaughn Eilene (Bonnie) Koster, age 93 of Bottineau passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2019 at a Bottineau nursing home.  Honoring Bonnie's wishes there will be no services, cremation has taken place.

Bonnie Koster, a daughter of Elwood and Dora (Waters) Smith, was born on March 8, 1926 at Bottineau.  She was raised there and graduated from Bottineau High School.  On November 30, 1945, she married Lloyd Koster at Bottineau.  They made their home on a farm near Kramer.  They retired in 2002 and in 2004 they moved to Minot.    Lloyd passed away on September 6, 2009.  Bonnie later returned to Bottineau.

Bonnie was a very kind and gentle woman.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Staying at Grandma Bonnie's was a special treat.  She enjoyed traveling and spending winter in Texas but was always happy to return to the farm she loved.

She is survived by he daughter, Luanne (Lorin) Rubbert of Bottineau; son-in-law, Gaylon Brandt of Oakes, ND; grandchildren, Chad Brandt of Oakes, ND; Leigh (Noel) Rieder of Colorado, Faron Liebl of Arizona and Justin (Sloan) Liebl of Bottineau; great-grandchildren, Abigail Rieder, Alison Rieder and Blaire Liebl; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Brandt; sisters, Faye (Cecil) Lawrence and Fern (Allen) Dravland; and brothers, Clayton and LeRoy Smith.
