Larry Grant, age 67 of Bottineau, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at his home in Dunseith.  His funeral will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00 am at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dunseith.  His wake will be on Thursday starting at 4:00 pm at the church.  Burial will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Belcourt.

Larry Daniel Grant, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born on April 20, 1958 in Rolla, ND to Archie Sr. and Flora (Desjarlais) Grant. From an early age Larry showed a remarkable talent forworking with his hands and caring for those around him.

Larry attended Belcourt Schools, where he graduated. After graduation, he went on to earn multiple college certificates, including taxidermy, welding and diesel mechanics.

Larry held a number of careers, including working as a carpenter, serving his community as a firefighter, and working at the Belcourt manufacturing plant. In addition to these professions, he was a gifted mechanic who often lent his talents to help friends and
neighbors with their vehicles and equipment.

Outside of work, Larry had a deep love for the natural world. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and passing those traditions down to his children. He also enjoyed time spent with his family, particularly his mother whom he adored.

Larry had four children with Gloria Decoteau, Tamara, Jessie and Jessica (twins), and Larry. Larry also had three children with Deloris Gunville, Jeremy, Daniel, and Marshall. Larry also became a father figure to Max, Connie, Brad, and Michael Defender. His legacy lives on through his children and the values he instilled in each of them.

He is survived by his sisters; Katherine (William) Vote, JoAnn (Jim) Hamley, and Brenda Grant, all of Belcourt, ND; His sons - Jeremy (Carletta) Grant, Daniel Grant both of Dunseith, ND, Marshall (Kaitlan) Grant of Bottineau,ND, Larry Decoteau of Dunseith, and his daughter; Tamara (Curtis) Grant of Dunseith; 25 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Flora and Archie Grant Sr.; his sisters, Eleanor Amyotte and Shirley (Paul) Azure; his brothers, John Grant Sr., Archie Grant Jr., Joseph Desjarlais and Frank Grant; and two children, Jessie and Jessica. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Emma (LaFountaine) Grant, and Joseph and Lillian (Poitra) Desjarlais.
