Kenneth Prellwitz, age 78 of Willow City, passed away on November 2, 2023 at a Bottineau hospital.  His funeral will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau with visitation starting one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery near Willow City with light refreshments to follow at the Willow City Community Hall.

Kenneth Prellwitz, the oldest son of Walter and Lila (Schoenborn) Prellwitz, was born on January 29, 1945 at Bottineau.  On August 30, 1967, he married Peggy Klebe.  Shortly after getting married, he joined the Army and served one tour in Vietnam. Upon leaving the Army he returned to Willow City where over the years, he worked for Winger Cheese in Towner and did road work for McHenry County until they purchased a dairy farm just outside of Willow City. He ran the dairy and did farming until he retired in 2006, when they moved into the retirement four-plex in Willow City. Even after retiring he loved staying active by going out to the farm to help with calving and haying and enjoyed going around town to have a cup of coffee and conversation with friends and family.

Ken was an active member of the American Legion, Willow City Chapter for many years and was also involved in the church.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Walter) Merriam of Calhan, CO; son, Vance (Bonnie-deceased) Prellwitz of Willow City and daughter, Jennifer (Shawn) Rowland of Pendelton, SC; grandchildren Preston, Sean, Kiersten, Brandon, Faith, and Wyatt; brothers, Ron, Gary and Curt; sisters, Connie, Colleen, Marlene and Darlene and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his sister Carole, and his parents.
