Obituary

Kenneth Brenden, age 85 of Bottineau, formerly of Landa, died Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Bottineau hospital. His funeral will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Lesje Lutheran Cemetery near Souris.

Kenneth M. Brenden, a son of Ole and Clara (Sveen) Brenden, was born on January 17, 1934 at Landa. He grew up on the family farm north of Landa. He attended country school and then continued on at Dakota Lutheran in Minot before graduating from Bottineau High School. He then attended the School of Forestry in Bottineau, where he met Violet Reamer. On December 30, 1954, he married Violet Reamer in the Methodist Church in Bottineau. They made their home in Bottineau. Kenneth worked for Koland's putting up steel bins and later T&K Rambler and Theel Inc. in Bottineau. In 1965 they moved to Landa and took over the family farm where they resided until moving into Bottineau in 2019.

He was member of the Lesje Lutheran Church where he served on the church board. He also served on the Scotia Township Board, Souris School Board and as director of the North Central Electric Board for 29 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Kenneth passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Bottineau hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Violet of Bottineau; daughters, Prudence (Jack) Kersten of Bottineau, Peggy (Tom) Forsberg of Minot; son, Patrick (Holly) Brenden of Bottineau. Grandchildren; Carter Forsberg, Jonathan Brenden and Stephanie Brenden. Brother, Owen Brenden of Minot; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Reamer of Bottineau; brother-in-law, Daniel Novodvorsky of Bottineau; nieces and nephews, Pam Kelly, Paul Brenden, Heather Snowden, Heidi Selch and Jerome Reamer and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Marian Novodvorsky and Norma Brenden and brother-in-law, Delbert Reamer.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuenralhome.net .

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be given to the Lesje Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund or the Dakota Lutheran Academy Scholarship Fund.
