Karen Keller, age 64 of Bottineau, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home in Bottineau. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Lake Metigoshe Christian Center.
Karen Keller, a daughter of Harold and Luella (Backman) Shultz, was born on December 6, 1955 in Bottineau. She was raised in Bottineau and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1974. After high school, she worked at Keller and Keller CPA in Bottineau. On May 22, 1982, she married Steve Keller in Bottineau. After several years of marriage, they parted and continued to raise 3 amazing young men. She lived in Billings, MT and Salt Lake City, UT before returning to Bottineau in 1985. She owned and operated the Four Season's Store at Lake Metigoshe until 2006. Karen worked as a paraeducator at Bottineau Central School and also worked for the Dakota College in Bottineau. She later became an assistant librarian at the Bottineau County Library.
She was a member of the Metigoshe Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being at the lake with friends, reading and spending time with her great nieces and nephew.
Karen passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home in Bottineau.
She is survived by her sons, Josh, Zach and Sam (Clare) all of Bottineau; mother, Luella Shultz of Bottineau; sister, Lynette (Rick) Hartle of Aurora, IN; brothers, Dave Shultz of Landa and Harvey (Alison) Shultz of Bottineau; niece, Randi (Kevin) Dunn; nephews, Shawn (Kierney) Shultz; great nieces and nephew, Molly, Emma and Tessa Dunn and Kennisyn and Madden Shultz and friend, Richard Pechtl.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Shultz and her grandparents.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net .
