Obituary

Julie Dahl, age 75 of Bottineau, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at a Bottineau hospital. There will be a celebration of life for her in the spring.  She will be buried next to her husband Marlie at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Julie Dahl, a daughter of  Herman J. Eller and Emma M. (Albert) Eller, was born on August 7, 1950 in Bottineau. She attended school in Dunseith, ND before going to work at the State Sanitarium north of Dunseith. She worked there for about 5 years or so, until just after she got married. She married Marlin Dahl (Marlie) November 30, 1974 in Westhope, ND. They lived in Bottineau for awhile until they moved to the Dahl Family Farm for several years. Julie decided to work at the Hospital, it was closer to drive to work. They finally bought a house on North Bennett street, where they lived until Marlie died in 2005. She continued to live there until her sister moved back to Bottineau from Washington state in 2012. In the spring of 2013 they bought a motor home and decided to travel to Arizona for the winters. Julie who really hadn't been much out of Rolette or Bottineau counties all of her life, decided she loved to travel. She got to see pretty much all of the western United States. She was like a kid in a candy store, seeing everything. They always came back to Bottineau in the summer time. But when the "white stuff" or the cold air started to come, it was time to be on the road again.

Besides traveling and seeing everything, Julie loved to put together puzzles and play solitaire, or Find a word puzzles. She like to watch the Walton's, and Little House on the Prairie. But her biggest love was John Wayne. She must has seen most of his movies 100's of times. Anything, John Wayne made her happy! Finally after several years of traveling, she had to move into the Good Samaritan in Bottineau, due to dementia/Alzheimer's.

Julie is preceeded in death by her husband Marlin. Her parents Herman Eller Sr. and Emma Eller. Also 9 half brothers and sisters. Gladys Couch, Leonard Eller, Elizabeth Segal, Herman Eller Jr., Leo Eller, Margaret Plourde, Richard Eller, Rose Eller, and Thomas Eller. Also 2 full sisters Carol Dejarlais, and Bonnie Eller.

She is survived by her youngest sister Ivy Robert.
