J oseph Yocum, age 67 of Bottineau, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at a Bottineau hospital.  His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Joseph Yocum, a son of Lester and Florence (Keyes) Yocum, was born on December 25, 1955 in Harrisburg, PA.  He was raised in Enola, PA.  He joined the US Air Force in 1979.  He served throughout the world until his retirement in 2000.  While serving, Joseph found a love for photography.  Joe met Lorie (Arden) Hagen before his retirement from the service through the internet.  Once they met, they knew they were meant to be together.  Lorie moved to Georgia and they were married in July of 1999 in Aiken, SC.  They moved to Enola, PA after his retirement.  They later moved to Petersburg, ND to be closer to Lorie's family.  Joe and Lorie worked a the Grand Forks Air Force Base for a few years and then dedicated their time volunteering at the Airman's Attic.  They made their final move to Bottineau to be closer to family during Joe's final years.

Joe loved life, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lorie Yocum of Bottineau; sisters, Joanne (Mike)McCarty of Enola, PA and brother, Lester of Citrus Heights, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steven Yocum.
